Scientists from the IMPPC, the ICO and the CSIC-UAM show how the natural brakes on the inflammatory process are removed in colorectal tumours Scientists from the Epigenetic Mechanisms of Cancer and Cell Differentiation Group at the IMPPC, together with the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) and the Institute of Biomedical Investigations Alberto Sols (CSIC-UAM) have identified how the system that reduces inflammation is altered in colorectal cancer cells, which leads to uncontrolled inflammation. This could be used in the future to identify people at risk and also to treat those who develop cancer.

Scientists from the IMPPC publish a new tool to help clinicians and researchers to explore The Cancer Genome Atlas data Wanderer is an intuitive and easy to use interface to look at complex data regarding the genetic code and the structures controlling what it does for all types of cancer in the TCGA database. It displays data in easily interpreted graphs and diagrams and this information can be downloaded. It is free to use and available on the research group's website.
