The IMPPC and the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute Foundation share a management team
The IMPPC and the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute Foundation will share their administrative management teams. Shared management will improve efficiency and efficacy and encourage synergies between the two organizations. The move is one of the measures to optimize resources proposed by CERCA (Institute of Research Centres of Catalonia).
The José Carreras Leukemia Research Institute Foundation (José Carreras Institute) is the research arm of the International José Carreras Leukaemia Foundation. The Institute was set up by the Generalitat of Catalonia (Ministries of Health and Economy and Knowledge) and the International José Carreras Foundation. It forms part of the public research sector in Catalonia and its trustees include the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Badalona City Council.
The aims of the new foundation are to promote, develop, transfer, manage and publicize research, scientific knowledge and technology in biomedical research in the field of Hematology. It will also carry out important related teaching and training tasks.
