Rafael de Cid appointed Scientific Director of IMPPC DNA Bank
The new scientific Director starts work in January 2012 to oversee the prestigious project
Rafael de Cid started his career with the distinguished scientist Xavier Estivill at the then Insititut de Recerca Oncologica on what is now the IDIBELL campus. He continued his work at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona before moving to France to join the IG CNG, Institute de Genomique at the Centre National de Génotipage in Evry. He later moved to Genethon, also in France.
Dr De Cid's experience in Human Genetics, especially Complex disorders and Genomics make him a key player for the IMPPC, where he will be working in close conjunction with the Genomics and Bioinformatics Platform and setting up his own research in association, linkage and diagnostics while overseeing the DNA Bank project.
