IMPPC Fundación Institut de Medicina Predictiva i Personalitzada del Càncer

The IMPPC is housed in a three-storey building of 3300 m2.  The ground floor contains the shared facilities (DNA bank, anatomical pathology laboratory, IT, genome unit) and support services (administration, auditorium, cafeteria etc).  The first floor contains the translational research into the molecular factors that can predict the risk of development cancer. On the second floor there will be groups carrying out basic research into the molecular basis of cancer.

As well as research laboratories, the IMPCC will also have support units including tissue and DNA banks, pathology laboratories, genome services, microscopy, cell culture and a bioinformatics department.

PROVISIONAL SITUATION
The new building is programmed to come into use on 1 November 2008. From February 2007 the first research group will be provisionally installed in the FIICSGTiP building in the same complex.
